Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico into a family of musicians. The majority of her early years listening to classical music and boleros of the past, traditional ranchero or romantic tunes and older classical songs. Ana is a fan of tangos, as well as drama and opera. Her mother teaches her how to sing, but she started more intense singing lessons by Flavio Belcerra when she was just 16 years old. Belcerra was an internationally acclaimed Mexican opera Tenor. Her music training continued in the School of Music of Guadalajara University. Then, she enrolled in an institution called the School of Sacred Music of Toluca. When she was a student, as well when she was a professional young within Mexico City and Guadalajara she sang with several chamber groups and choirs. Following her move from Mexico to the United States at the age of 2000, she performed in the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. She sings in Ensemble XXI Redlands, and performs Latin American traditional music solo at many private events. As a musician and teacher Ana is a dedicated participant in various community-based projects because of her passion and love for music. Ana was also a member of the Community Chorus of Redlands and Inland Master Chorale. She is presently a professor of The Performance Loft. Ana feels privileged to be able share with others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes to inspire younger generations to preserve the traditions.
