Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is a well-known Indian actress, best famous for her role in Beta Saajan and Hum Aapke Hai Koun, and Beta Saajan. She first began her career acting in the 1980s. The actress became popular for the film Tezaab starring the veteran actor Anil Kooor. The next film she appeared in was Dil where she shared screen space with Aamir. In the beginning, as a child growing up in the middle class of Mumbai, she learned to dance. When she was still in high school, she tried her hand at acting, but most films she attempted to make were unsuccessful. Then, she discovered success in Indian filmmaking and rose to the top. After her marriage the actress took time to rest from her acting career until she returned. More recently she played an integral character in the film Gulaab Gang which was about the struggles of women living in India. Dixit was awarded the film eight Filmfare Awards out of the fifteen nominations she received. She was also honored with her Padma Shri the fourth highest civilian honor in India. Her name is well-known for her social works as well.
